About UsMagneticNumbers is a small company based in surrey, owned and run by two active sprint and hillclimb competitors, Ian Rogers and Phil Cook. Ian has been competing in sprints since July 2005 using a 1991 Toyota MR2 2.0 GTi-16, with Phil starting to sprint his 1990 Toyota Corolla GTi-16 soon after in March 2006. The idea of a magnetic numbers is not a new one, with some fellow competitors having sets for as long as 10 years already. However, at the end of the 2005 season, Ian set about trying to find some magnetic numbers which would go onto his MR2, despite many hours of searching he did not find any which were of either a suitable size or available in the UK. After this failure, Ian and Phil set about finding the components and tools to manufacture magnetic competition numbers for the MR2 and the Corolla which was being prepared at the time. With some discussions around the motor clubs which Ian and Phil were members (Farnborough & District Motor Club www.fdmc.org.uk & Southsea Motor Club www.southseamotorclub.co.uk) it was found that there would be a lot of interest in these sets if they were made commercially available, and so MagneticNumbers was started. Initial protoypes received a good reception and we now offer two sizes, 11" tall and 9" tall, created to fit the widest range of cars possible (all dependent on the positon of the bump strip on the door). For more information on the products and selection of the correct unit please contact us and we will be more than willing to help. |
